Accessibility statement

Our customers use screen readers, magnification and keyboards every day. This website has to work for them first. This statement explains what we have done, what still needs work, and how to tell us when something is in your way.

What this statement covers

This statement applies to the website access4u.eu, including the online shop, the customer account and the licence pages. It does not cover the software products themselves, which have their own documentation.

The standard we work to

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site is being redesigned against that standard, and it is checked with automated tools during development and with screen reader users before release.

As a business selling to consumers in the European Union, we also follow the requirements of the European Accessibility Act for online shops.

What we have done

  • Every page has a clear heading structure and named regions, so you can jump straight to the part you need.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and skip links at the top of each page.
  • Text and controls meet the contrast levels in WCAG 2.2 AA, and a high-contrast mode is one click away in the bar at the top.
  • Text can be enlarged with the larger-text switch or with your browser's zoom up to 200 percent without anything being cut off.
  • Animation is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion, or with the reduce-motion switch at the top of the page.
  • Audio never starts on its own. Voice samples play only when you press play.
  • Images have text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • The language of each page and of each foreign-language element is marked, so screen readers switch voices correctly.

Known limitations

We know about the following issues and are working on them:

  • Written transcripts for the voice samples are being prepared.
  • The software licence agreement is a PDF that has not yet been tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we send the text by email.
  • The shop checkout and customer account use standard WooCommerce components. They are being reviewed as part of the redesign.
  • Dutch and German versions of the site are planned and not yet available.

Tested with

The site is tested with NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android, in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. It is also tested with keyboard only and with screen magnification.

Tell us when something is in your way

If you cannot use part of this website, or you need information in another form, contact us. Say which page and what happened, and which assistive technology you use if that helps. We aim to reply within [number] working days.

If you are not satisfied

If we do not respond, or you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the supervisory authority for the European Accessibility Act in your country. In the Netherlands, [name of authority] handles complaints about online services.
